മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ നോവലുകളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി മനോരമ നിർമ്മിച്ച് മോഹൻലാൽ അഭിനയിച്ച ഒരു നാടകം. ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ കണ്ടത്. ഞാൻ പൊതുവെ കാണാറുമില്ല, വായിയ്ക്കാറുമില്ല. യാൻ ഫോസെയുടെ നാടകങ്ങൾ വായിയ്ക്കണം എന്ന് വിചാരിയ്ക്കുന്നു.

ചുള്ളിക്കാടിന്റെ ഗസൽ. കാരൂർ ശശിയുടെ അമാവാസി. എന്റെയോ മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും കവിയുടെയോ ഒരു വരിപോലും എനിയ്ക്ക് കാണാതെയറിയില്ല. മലയാളത്തിൽ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഫെയ്മസ് ഒറ്റവരി കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം ജീവിച്ചുപോകുന്ന അധ്യാപക കവികളുടെ പോപ്പുലർ വരികൾ അറിയാം. ആ വരികളോടെ അവരുടെ കവിതകളുടെ വരിയുടഞ്ഞുപോയി എന്ന് ഉറച്ചു വിശ്വസിയ്ക്കുന്നു.

പല തരത്തിൽ അറിവ് സമ്പാദിയ്ക്കാനുള്ള ദാഹമാണ് എന്നെ നയിയ്ക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഹ്യൂമൻ കണ്ടീഷൻ എന്ന സംഗതി മനസിലാക്കുക, അതിനെപ്പറ്റി ചിന്തിച്ചിരിയ്ക്കുക. ചരിത്രം, രാഷ്ട്രീയം സംസ്കാരം തുടങ്ങിയവയിലെ അറിവ് വർദ്ധിപ്പിയ്ക്കുക, കൂടുതൽ നല്ല മനുഷ്യനാവുക. എന്റെ സന്തോഷം എഴുത്തിന്റെ nuance-ൽ ആണ്, brillaint character moments പ്രധാനം. ഇതൊക്കെ എന്നെ എഴുത്തിൽ സഹായിയ്ക്കും എന്ന ചിന്തയും ഉണ്ട്. എന്റെ രണ്ടു ബുക്കിലും അത്തരം എഴുത്തുകൾക്കുള്ള അനവധി homage-കളുണ്ട്.

Seicho Matsumoto (Inspector Imanishi),Kanae Minato (I am planning to read “Penance”). Higashino of course is the greatest contemporary success story(his latest will come in October/November i guess ). There are plenty of new writers like Riku Onto, Nisin, and i cant remember many other names.
